*The Headless and Heartless babies.*
Hiiiiiiii People!
When I tell you people that I forget I own a blog! Sometimes, I remember at midnight or deep in my dreams and there isn’t much that a girl can do at that time. Sigh! I apologize okay? *Cue the wise words of the philosopher Adele: Consistency is the best trait to have and it is keyyyyyy to ever keep, to ever keep a blog like this! I promise to do better. Let’s get right into it because today’s post is quite lengthy anyway!
We have a guest today! Yaaayy! Sister Story time!!! This is special because this is a friend and big sister that I got from this blog. She came across this blog and like me decided to get surgery. She shares her testimony with us and also like the great big sis that she is, she gives us a little recap on Fibroids for those of us who have forgotten (Yes, Emefa, I’m giving you the wickedest side-eye!). We’ll keep her identity as Dolly since she prefers to be anonymous. Ladies and gentlemen, Dolly’s story…
Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous tumors or growths that form in the walls of the uterus; they vary in size and can grow in a number of ways, including both into the uterine cavity and outside the uterus. Estrogen and progesterone are hormones that both play important roles in the reproductive health of women. These hormones regulate the monthly cycle of menstruation and ovulation, influencing pregnancy and fertility. There can be an observation of fibroid growth when these two hormones are elevated.
Also If you have a family history of uterine fibroids, it’s more likely that you’ll have them too, eg. if your mother had or has them, this increases the chance that you will also have them.
In estimation from 20-80% of women have one or more uterine fibroids before the age of 50, making them a fairly common health condition affecting many women of childbearing age.
These fibroids gives discomfort during Ovulation and Menstruation. It is normally associated with pelvic pain, lower back pain, abdominal pressure, and pain during sexual intercourse and can also sometimes give rectal and bladder pressure.
Some symptoms of these uterine fibroids are:
- Heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding
2. Breakthrough bleeding between periods
3. An increased need to urinate or difficulty voiding
4. Irregular Constipation
5. Vaginal discharge
6. A clearly distended or enlarged abdomen
7. Difficulty conceiving, or infertility.
*I TESTIFY*
God has been good to me throughout my life. without him, I would have nothing to write about.
My story and testimony today are about the headless and the heartless babies (uterine fibroids) which grow in women of childbearing age.
I went through the journey of fibroids with monthly pain.
Every time my ovulation starts I know I am going to face two weeks of pain battle before seeing my actual menstruation. This Journey wasn’t and has not been easy. I had sleepless nights, I cried out through the night and wished I could just help myself miraculously. Frankly, I wouldn’t wish this pain for anyone.
My fibroids got to a stage where they started making me feel dizzy and also brought about some cravings as if I was pregnant. It wasn’t easy for me, I was skeptical about seeing the Doctor and taking these heartless and headless babies out of my system at first because of the hospital charges in the USA but my inner self spoke to me that my God will take care of it.
So I decided that enough was enough I couldn’t endure this pain forever. I went to see my Doctor and opted for surgery. Yes, low and behold as soon as my MRI result came out, my Doctor said, “my lady you got to take this out.” I was happy to hear that. Not only will the procedure relieve me from the monthly pain, but it will keep me in bed for some time and I could really use a break. However, as the time approached fear started building up because I hadn’t gone through surgery before. But I kept my figures crossed and called on my father in heaven to keep me safe. And true to His word, He proved to me that, He is the good God I worship! The surgery was successful and God came through with the payment from my insurance providers.
*Process of healing*.
I had to go through the healing process. The medication given to me usually caused Constipation so I always had to take stool softener otherwise there will be war down there.
In this process, you surely need someone by your side because you can’t do it all by yourself. The same God who took me through the procedure provided Destiny helpers to help me go through my healing process. and I must say I am grateful to them. Without these people, I couldn’t have made it on my own. 4weeks came by and I felt I was getting better. I finally started work after 6th week of staying at home. It wasn’t easy for me because sitting for a longer period was like pressing on my wound. So I usually had to walk around to deal with the distress. Now, I am much much better and my quality of life has improved tremendously. I can only thank God and all who were involved to make this possible.
Uterine fibroids can be found in most women and have become a problem for women of childbearing age.
Let’s fight this by:
Balancing your estrogen level through weight loss.
Avoiding and Limiting high-sodium processed and packaged foods.
Check your blood pressure daily with a home monitor.
Exercise regularly.
Lose weight, especially around the waist.
Avoid or limit alcohol.
Increase potassium by eating a majority of plants at each meal
Having Healthy diet counts and many more.
Fibroids will definitely grow if they have to but the best way to get them out of your system is to talk to your physician gynecologist about it and get the best solution.
